Smile Makeovers
At Park Road Dental Practice we can give you the smile that you have always dreamed of. A smile makeover is a very individual choice and could include a number of procedures to improve your smile to the desired result. Treatments can be to lighten, straighten, reshape or repair your teeth. At your dental makeovers consultation we will discuss all the options with you and the best course of treatment for you.
Teeth Whitening
Teeth whitening is a simple and effective method of lightening teeth.
Teeth darken and yellow with age. Tea, coffee and certain foods all speed up the process. Smoking and other staining agents also contribute to darkening of teeth. Our teeth whitening treatment can transform stained or discoloured teeth, giving you a whiter, brighter smile. We use Phillips Home Zoom-Kit tray system. This requires use of custom made trays which you take home with the whitening solution and use over a period of time.

Veneers
Veneers are a type of cosmetic dentistry used to correct a variety of problems, including:
Crooked or misshapen teeth | Stained or discoloured teeth | Close minimal gaps
Improve chipped teeth | Improve misaligned teeth
Veneers provide an extremely accurate and durable wafer thin covering which is bonded to your tooth. Following a free consultation the dentist will discuss with you the different types of veneer we provide, either indirect porcelain or direct Venus Pearl composite, and decide which is most suitable for your case. The process of veneers can take several visits but often little / no work is needed on the tooth itself. With regular examinations and good oral hygiene measures, veneers generally last around 10 years or more.

"I recently had composite veneers carried out by Dr David Lawler. I couldn’t recommend him highly enough. He is very meticulous, taking care and time to get the look as natural as possible. I have had so many compliments from strangers, never mind those who know I’ve had them done, it has boosted my confidence massively."

Crowns & Bridges
Crowns and bridges are both effective in restoring your smile.
Unsightly and broken teeth can often be fully restored using crowns. Most crowns are made of porcelain and this enables a very close colour match to existing teeth. Crowns are aesthetically pleasing and can look and feel very natural. Crowns also protect the tooth and once restored can last for many years.
On your first appointment for a crown the tooth will be shaped and whilst the crown is being made, a temporary one will be fitted. On your second appointment the crown will be fitted and you will see the results.
Bridges are used to fill in gaps and replace missing teeth. These are used as a very good alternative to dentures if the surrounding teeth are strong enough to support the bridge. Bridges are attached to neighbouring teeth and just like crowns, are made from porcelain and colour matched to your existing teeth. They look very natural and make a huge difference to your smile.
There are several different types of bridges and your options will be fully discussed with your dentist.

"I recently had a white filling done at Park Road Dental Practice. I have gone there for years, and always had great care, and courtesy from Mr Cheung and his team. This time, it was David who did my filling. Again, as with Mr Cheung, he was very polite, professional and put me at ease instantly. The nurses and receptionists are always lovely. All in all, I would recommend this practice highly for anyone looking to register with a dentist in Tyneside."
